Day 1 – Mexico – Puebla – Oaxaca
Departure to Puebla de los Ángeles, to visit Santa María Tonantzintla, a temple beautifully decorated by indigenous hands. Upon arrival in Puebla: the Chapel of the Rosary, the Cathedral, the Plaza Mayor and the Historic Center. Departure to Oaxaca. Arrival and accommodation.
Day 2- Oaxaca – Montealban – Mitla – Tule - Oaxaca
Breakfast. In the morning we will go to Monte Albán, an archaeological zone built on a mountain, where we will find manifestations of the Olmec, Zapotec and Mixtec cultures: The Great Plaza, the Observatory, the Tomb No. 7, the Stelae of the Dancers. Later we will see Mitla, the city of the dead, an important site of beautiful decoration based on symbolic frets. We will know the Tule Tree, perhaps the most voluminous living being in the world. We will visit Oaxaca, a beautiful colonial city, including the Cathedral, the magnificent temple of Santo Domingo and the Gold Museum. Accommodation.
Day 3 – Oaxaca – Tuxtla Gutierrez – Sumidero Canyon – San Cristobal de las Casas.
Very early in the morning, departure from the hotel in Oaxaca to Tuxtla Gutierrez, on the way breakfast will be taken. Arrival to Tuxtla Gutierrez and transfer to the jetty to sail by boat through the Sumidero Canyon. Continue to San Cristóbal de las Casas. Arrival at the hotel and accommodation.
Day 4 – San Cristobal de las Casas.
Breakfast. Visit of San Cristóbal and the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinancantán (or vice versa). Return to San Cristobal. Free afternoon. Accommodation.
Day 5 – San Cristobal de las Casas – Agua Azul Waterfalls – Misol Ha – Palenque
Breakfast. Departure to the incredible Agua Azul waterfalls. Then continue to Palenque, making a stop on the way to visit the Misol-Há water fall. Arrival to Palenque. Hotel moving and lodging.
Day 6 – Palenque – Archaeologic Zone – Campeche
Breakfast. Visit of the archaeological zone of Palenque. Departure to Campeche, a walled city famous for its constant pirate attacks, due to which it is surrounded by forts and walls. Arrival and accommodation.
Day 7 – Campeche – Uxmal – Merida
After breakfast, there will be a panoramic tour of the city of Campeche. Following our tour, we will visit the archaeological zone of Uxmal, a place considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity, located in the Puuc area, being the most representative city of this architectural style, continuation to Mérida and rest of the day free. Accommodation.
Day 8 – Merida – Chichen Itza – Cancun
Breakfast. Departure to Chichen-Itzá, visit of the archeological zone, which was an important ceremonial religious center of the Mayan classical period. Among its many buildings are: the Observatory, the Pyramid of Kukulcan, the ballgame and the Temple of the Warriors. In the afternoon continue the trip to Cancun. (Hotel in Cancun not included).
